In Praise Of Ebay !
30 Answers
On Saturday morning, a small plastic clip that stops the trays from falling out of the runners on my dishwasher broke.
I went straight onto ebay, found a pair of replacements in about 30 seconds, ordered them for £2.97, including P+P, and they arrived yesterday !
I think this is about as good a service I could have expected. I am not sure how I could manage without ebay these days, I really don't !

However, the price spend was then established as £10 and it is now the case that without telling customers the amount has increased to £20. (excluding Books for which it remains at £10.) Rocky is correct.

It is well past time that high street retailers fought back!
Just have a customer service area, where they can browse product photographs, descriptions and prices, ask questions and so forth. Exactly the same as the online experience.
If they want to handle the product or test its ergonomics etc then get them to pay £5 or £10 deposit per £100 the item is worth (see Currys scenario, above).
They get to go to a special area where they can try as many brands as they need to make their mind up. To walk away, their online bargain needs to be that 5% or 10% cheaper and more, to recoup their lost deposit and the street retailer gets paid for their sales staff's time and effort.
Hmmm. Maybe not? The Church of Retail knows better than to oblige its congregants to fill the collection plate before the sermon has begun.
