Other than that Toronto and the surrounding areas are quite nice. I've got relatives who love in Oakville and Niagara...both of which are very easily accessible from Toronto. If you're a Brit another area of Toronto which seems quite popular with ex-pats is St Clare. Its a few subway stops outside of the city.
I have a friend in Montreal, supposed to be a great lively city, but you would need to know/speak basic french to live there. The metro is really handy there, connects most areas of the city.
Toronto, another very popular choice, but its expensive living right in the central city.It would be cheaper to live on the outskirts close by the subway/train station etc. and commute.
