Labour cannot even elect a leader, never mind running a country.

I think this latest inter party squabbling has finally put an end to Labour ever getting back in power.

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe"
It looks straight forward to me, the two female aspirants are no Margaret Thatcher and that leaves Andy Burnham or Jeremy Corbin.

There is little doubt that there is a move within the Labour party for a move to the left and that only means a win for JC and that I predict.

Now, will that win Labour the next election and this has little to do with infiltration.

I am a lifelong Labour person but you don't need to be Einstein or a top political commentator to see that if you allow Joe Bloggs to pay £3 to vote then you are going to have people voting who are not committed Labour people. No matter who ends up winning (though it will be Andy Burnham anyway I suspect) then that is a ridiculous state of affairs
corbyloonacy

yes I think it will be him
There have probably been one or two who have signed up with the intention of getting Corbyn elected for good or bad, but I doubt it is widespread.

It is probably significant that the people claiming it has been infiltrated are the MPs who are supporting a candidate who is going to lose.
"This election is being fought under rules that were agreed by the whole party last year."

BUT….

“Labour MPs were "dumbfounded" when they learned how the contest was to be run…”

So where were they last year then?

I fail to see how the process has been "infiltrated". The party has effectively opened up their leadership election to anybody with three quid to spare (as well as the inclination to get involved in such a non-event). All they have to do is tick a box that says the support the aims of the Party. To infiltrate means to enter surreptitiously or clandestinely. It's scarcely cloak and dagger stuff if a few people pay their three quid and, shall we say, be somewhat economical with the truth when they tick the box.
I'm not so sure it has been infiltrated. Quite possibly the hard left has mobilised though.
Old Corblimey is going to cancel HS2 in favour of a superfast canal.
So the hard left and the Conservatives are united in their desire to see this bloke elected leader of the Labour party? What a sad state of affairs.
Whether infiltrated or not it's a daft system
The trouble is that if it is halted now it will look like it's because the 'wrong' person might win, which is also ill-advised
