I remember reading somewhere that this 'knock out ' gas being use din robberies was an urban myth and there was no evidence it was actually happening, but someone speaking on radio 4 the radio today today suggested it was a known problem and that Russia may be behind it

No this is an urban myth

anaesthetic gas CANNOT be used int his way -at all let alone safely
comes up every y or two - watch out for words such as 'halothane or something' and ' killer truth serum gas'

The Royal College of Anaesthetists used to have an FAQ on this
but the intellects on the council voted to take it off, [ as they said it was infra dig for their very important reputations [= reflected badly on their reputations in that they were responding to such stupid suggestions]

no it didnt, no it wasnt

there WAS a report that the air con had been cut open
and killer truth serum gas pumped in
but they were not confirmed ( think flying pigs, nuns with guns in world war two etc )

A lady I know had this happen to her when caravanning in France. They woke up to find they had been burgled. It terrified her and I don't think they ever went again. Not an urban myth.

great aunt of mine had this happen to her ,gas fed into her home and then being robbed by the supplier when she got the bill

I'm really pleased that the BBC news had an anaesthetist on just now, completely debunking this ridiculous gassing theory. It's been doing the rounds for years and years, even some very intelligent people still believe they've been gassed in their camper vans, caravans or homes. The caravan club website has some interesting things to say about it too.
