Any views on the Turner Prize and this years winner Grayson Perry folks? A good artist getting a deserved reward or a waste of time and space......and what was that frock all about then eh?

It was about time Little Bo Peep won an award!

Political Correctness gone mad, and an insult to transexuals.
Question Author
Little Bo Peep...hmm....BTW he's not a transsexual which inplies a male wishing to change gender to female (or vice versa), he could be considered a transgendered person however, but he is by self admission a transvestite...clear as mud now I hope.
One part of me says "insult to transvestites" while the another says "don't box folk, enjoy the differences". No nought about the Turner prize!
I thought transvestites dressed as women. I've never seen a female over the age of 6 dressed like that! (Although I must admit to having had that dress in blue, it saw me through many, many Wimpey parties!) He seems like a talented bloke though - it's just a shame that everything seems to need a gimmick nowadays.
Perry is a brilliant artist, he articulates his soul on pottery and textiles and he has plenty to say and to feel. His work touches thousands of strangers and once your creativity moves a stranger you know you've got something to contribute. His dressing up is not a gimmick, it is part of who he is. If he was interested in gimmicks and money he wouldn't turn down the many commercial offers he gets that he feels would compromise his integrity. He also does a lot of work for charity, but doesn't like to talk about it.
