These are the only apples I seem to be able to eat without triggering an allergy I have but they seem to be looking very brown recently.

Is this a usual thing? It's not bruising and the apple underneath is fine but it makes them look a bit unappetising.

I've noticed it over the past few weeks in the shops, whether loose or in packets.

Anyone know what it is?

The odd colouring is normal and is no different than when some red apples have yellow splotches.

Nothing too unusual
