I can personally verify by examples known to me the former, but not the latter. Do you have any examples? Obviously it happens but there is no comparison in numbers.
The women raped in Berlin alone by Russian military is estimated at 100,000 most of them serially. I have only found less than 10 isolated cases of rape by British soldiers in the entire occupied German territories, all offenders court marshalled I believe. The British Army has an exceptionally good record in this area.

Khandro.......your point is well taken.
My comments are anecdotal concerning the British Army, taken from conversations with Scandinavian nurses in the 1960's and 70's.
During conversations over a period of time, I brought up the subject of German atrocities, but was aghast when the replies came that the Germans were gentleman compared to some of the Allied forces including the British.
Fragile evidence and mainly anecdotal i agree.

// Many rapes were committed under the effects of alcohol or post-traumatic stress, but some cases of premeditated attacks, like the attempted rape of two local girls at gunpoint by two soldiers in the village of Oyle, near Nienburg, which ended in the death of one of the women when, whether intentionally or not, one of the soldiers discharged his gun, hitting her in the neck, as well as the reported assault on three German women in the town of Neustadt am Rübenberge. On a single day in mid-April 1945, three women in Neustadt were raped by British soldiers. A senior British Army chaplain following the troops reported that there was a 'good deal of rape going on'. He then added that "those who suffer [rape] have probably deserved it. //
A close German friend's mother, who died only a few months ago aged 104 (marvellous lady) was multiply raped by Russian soldiers when they 'Liberated' Hamburg.
Offences of any sort, let alone rape, against the German civilian population were treated very seriously and severely I have been told, (by Germans).
Gromit; The chaplain who said 'good deal of rape going on' didn't say by the British, and as for his last comment, he sounded rather unworthy of his position.

Mueller's capture was a surprise to MSF. She unknowingly to them travelled with her Syrian boyfriend who was tasked with fixing their hospital's internet system in Aleppo, 70 miles from the Turkish border.
Unfortunately, the task was more problematic and required an overnight stay. Their vehicle was ambushed on the way back the next day.
We know why aid workers go out to help. I suppose they consider the risk of capture is negligable and therefore worth all the risks. Some folk, like Mueller, have very strong faith too.
