It does not make them unreadable, it not only makes it easier to other ABers what particular point one is making and who it is addressed to.

For example if a thread has been running for a couple of days and someone new enters the debate, by C&P they make everyone aware of what particular post and poster they are replying to.

Saves all those after thoughts such as "that was addressed to ............."

I have started, and continued to C & P on the basis that it made your contributions easier to follow, so I have followed suit.

I know that a couple of AB'ers moan about it, but the majority do not, and I take that as tacit acceptance that they find the system workable.
