Desperate Measures

After having written to several fashion magazines, and friends all over the world I am turning to the ladies at AB in the hope of some - well, hope. I am desperately searching for a jacket/coat that I saw in an indian film recently.

Description:Dusky pink, Suede, Knee length (3/4 length), With no/little lining making it very light to wear (no fur etc.).

If anyone has any idea of where I could get something like this, please do tell. The main bit is the Colour and the length of the jacket and so however well-meaning some suggestions are of those in another colour, please don't post them here!

I am willing to pay a considerable amount of money for this piece if found. Many thanks in advance.

I know you won't regard this as constructive, but if this was a film costume - especially a Bollywood movie - the garment may well have been specially designed, and may not be available off-the-peg.

Yes bollywood, but set completely in Manhattan with all 'western' clothes. I've contacted the designer of the film, believe it or not (no word back of course) but I am almost certain that he hasn't designed the jacket I'm after. Also, it's a pretty basic design but unbelievably hard to get hold off. So far I've trawled to UK, US online catalogues and exhausted Google.

Beenee, you would probably be quicker and easier getting a coat made for you. Why don't you try a local dressmaker?

True.. if all else fails I will get it made. Hitting the high street again tomorrow morning for a day of focused browsing. [Gosh, Ive never gone so mad about anything before!].......well....

Anyone know of any good and cheap dressmakers/tailors in London?

Have you tried TK Maxx? The do quite a good range of clothing and I remember seeing something similar to this on a sale rail not that long ago......perhaps not 100% but might be close enough?
