Here it is, the ‘long lost’ song. When Dave was learning guitar at about 17 he recorded everything onto cassettes which he then stored – nothing got erased. About 30 years later he went through some of these, out of curiosity I suppose. There were no full songs, just collections of chord sequences. One caught his attention so he decided to develop it. He turned it into an arrangement and asked me to write a lyric, and I think the recording was done in 2003. Between us we created what I think of as our masterpiece, and it’s loved by everyone from my daughter to my mum.
Many years ago – before the silly iPhone app – there was a site called Garage Band. It was for bands/musicians to upload songs for review. There were many, many thousands of songs on there, and at the time the site closed this track was in its all-time top 5.
Know how you sometimes get a ‘funny feeling’? My feeble brain is trying to convince me I might have actually rediscovered and posted this before, even though it feels new this evening. Oh well. It’s worth hearing again anyway.
And an update on my Facebook cold turkey – 7 days completed, occasional slight pangs but standing firm. Yay me etc etc.
