Right, I couldn't figure this out. ? . Does Neo die in the end? You can see him lying still after having overcome the evil thingie (forgotten what it's called) in the end. Cheers.

The Matrix Rev. is on there, and this is all it says: "After Trinity dies getting Neo to the machine city, Neo confronts "the source" and convinces him to stop the war on Zion until Agent Smith can be defeated. After a long fight, Neo gets copied by Smith, making the equation cancel itself out, defeating Smith as well. The war is over and humans and machines are at peace. Now people are allowed to stay or leave the matrix as they please, at least for now..."
Nothing about Neo dying... but another user may update what was written there. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't offer my personal opinion. This was the URL for what I quoted above: http://www.ruinedendings.com/film3297ending

What I meant was, if Neo had died, I'm sure that would have been mentioned specifically and prominently in the summary of the ending, because that would be a pretty important point! In other words, I doubt that Neo died.
Actually though, if Neo was copied / cloned, then he can never "die," because his copies will live on. So even if the original Neo died, his identical copies are very much alive-- so can he ever really be "dead" in the theoretical sense? No!

I think he died. If you want to think about the film purely like a computer, Neo was like a programme, there to get rid of the virus (Agent Smith), and balance all the things in the Matrix which had caused it to fail or go wrong in the past (eg putting the elements of love, compassion, and irrational and illogical human thought in). Lots of different versions of Neo had been created by the Matrix in the past, as you saw when he met the Creator. This version of Neo was the best designed, and completed his task, allowing the Matrix to reset itself, without all the problems, and therefore he ceased to exist (died). Just like the Key Maker died as soon as he got them through that door (he completed the task he was designed for, therefore ceased). In the same way, Trinity (who represents love), got Neo to a certain point and showed the power of love, then got killed cus she sort of fulfilled her role.
The film can obviously be interpreted on a million different levels. I know this explanation takes a very objective view, and interprets everything symbolically, but it can make sense. An article in Empire magazine sort of talked about the film like this, so it's one way of looking at it.
I think Neo's presence in the Matrix, as well as his physical body died.
Now, did anyone understand Donnie Darko.......

htm has the best review of revolutions including gnostic references and theory I've found. Though saying that, imdb.com revolutions page has some great threads which go into detail about potential plot flaws.
