Is there a valid reason for men wearing pony tails other than thinking it makes them look matcho ..Why grow the hair if you want to disguise the length of it by tying it up in a a silly pony tail .

earlier this week, I happened to land on an old Only Fools and Horses episode - the one where Rodney is having problems in his relationship with Cassandra. At the same time Del boy has to get rid of a load of men's wigs that he has got lumbered with. Rodders decides to put a ponytail extension on the back of his head and go round to see Cass with it. He gets there, and keeps feeling the back of his head - and she then talked to him about a guy at her work who has a ponytail and she thinks he looks a right idiot with this ponytail. Anyway, Rodders pulls off the ponytail extension and drops it down the back of the chair he's sitting on. Then Cassie sees it on the floor and thinks it's a rat! Rodders then goes through the motions of trying to get this rat, getting it and throwing it away. Cassie then finds it again, and they have a right giggle about it. Very funny ... this thread reminded me of it! Can't stand ponytails on men - especially older men whose hair looks a mess and they just tie it back to make it look tidy .... who are they trying to kid!

Personally - as a folically challenged individual (sorry gness!) - I am all for bald men having a Number One and forgetting about it - as do I. Fooling yourself (and no-one else!) about losing your hair is not a mature approach to something that no-one else cares about.

As to the earings bit - and forgive me if you have read this before - when my eldest daughter's husband first visited our home, he had a brass earing in each ear. twelve years and one baby later he had seen the error of his ways, and got rid of them.

It did give me an opportunity to remind him in my wedding speech - I told the assembled company that he was the perfect man to marry my daughter, because he had already experienced pain and bought jewellry!
