Gness, just down my lane, there are two very large old trees that home countless bats, they take flight every evening at twighlight. You can see dozens of them.
What sort of a reading would that give on your detector - would so many render it useless (ie too many signals) ??
Bats use ultrasonic sounds to avoid obstacles and locate prey. We can't hear them so the detector picks up the sounds and converts to a frequency we can hear.
Different types of bats give out different sounds so you adjust your detector to identify the type of bat.
I only have pipistrelles here.....my daughter can identify a number of different bats where she lives.
My brother and his wife bought one......they love it but their teenage son isn't so smitten when his friends are around....
What on earth are your parents doing with that thing in the garden?
gness i thought you were just being funny - i googled la la la land wine - did you pay £74 for it. I cant stand wine I think it all tastes like vinegar. When I go out to dinner - please a jug of water.
