I'm fed up constantly replacing my Kodak ink cartridges after what seems like a dozen pages printed, and yes I know you can get them refilled cheaper than buying new ones, but is it worth spending £200.00 (Staples quote) to get a printer that will do 4,000 black and white, and 6,500 colour?
Should last me for the rest of my life???

The ink tanks are a money saving idea for a heavy user of home printing or a small business - I'd worry about the ink going 'sticky' and needing replacing if you only use it occasionally.
I think you're right about the occasional use.
I do just want to print off a letter now and then, and copy a few bits and pieces. Will hold fire for the moment. Thanks.
I have a HP Photosmart C4680 and the standard cartridges seem to be cheaper than most, and one can also spend a little more and buy the larger cartridges.
Thanks, that sounds a better deal. Kodak charges about £27.00 for black/ white & colour, and I honestly believe that I never do more than 30- 50 pages before the black runs out.
