Our council provide a service to take away bulky items - it's free for the first time, then you pay if you want another collection within a certain time period starting from the time of the free collection .

Reminds me - we put out some yellow clinical waste bags outside my mums house for collection by the council - it was gone before the council came round to collect it .
The council guy told us that it was almost certainly taken by someone who thought it was a bag containing unwanted clothes .

Oh - what a surprise they must have had when they opened it ( especially if it was opened on the dining table :-)

I have, Minty. The guy who delivered it wouldn't connect it as he said the fitting was leaking and if he caused a flood installing it I might sue the company. I think the washer in the hose connecting the water supply to the machine had slightly perished and was slightly leaking. I installed it myself, well-nearly installed it, hence this thread.

When I bought my new machine from Currys, they took the old one away for free.
