Paedophile Paradise?

I was shocked to learn that many vulnerable children are being forced into the commercial sex industry as a means of survival along the coasts of Kenya. It’s a form of modern slavery and it has to stop.
One way we can help is by calling on the Kenyan Minister of Tourism to take urgent steps to better regulate the tourism sector to help protect Kenyan children from sexual abuse.
Will you join me in signing this petition and speaking out against the commercial sexual exploitation of Kenya’s children?

There's no end of this sort of thing going on all over the place (especially in Africa). Are you searching the internet for things like this? I don't know when people in the UK will learn that they cannot hope to cure all the world's ills. Stuff happens. It's a nasty old world out there. Signing a petition will not have the slightest effect on these activities. The authorities in the UK cannot even control what Africans get up to here. There's not a hope in hell anything can be done about things happening in Mombasa.
People need to stop worrying about all the injustices going on around the world. It's not good for them.

I'm not being patronising, humber. I'm genuinely intrigued on two counts:
1. How did Sandy find out about this (is there a website that lists social injustices, atrocities or something like that?)
2. Why do people believe that signing a petition will stop something that officials in the country here it is happening have obviously turned a blind eye?

New Judge, as far as I know there's no site, 'Wearyourheartonyoursleeve.com', where you can pick up a
good cause and run with it. I don't know how I came across the site with this petition.
Slavery didn't end when Lincoln emancipated the American slaves so it's still a subject worthy of attention.
People sometimes ask what good will petitions, or agitating for a particular cause, do?
Amnesty say this about their campaigns:
"In a world where those with power sometimes act with callous disregard for human suffering, this
may seem hopelessly optimistic. However, since 1961 we have made appeals on behalf of
thousands of individual victims of human rights abuses. During over 50 years of protecting
and defending human rights we have established a concrete record of achieving
these aims on a multitude of issues and in many individuals' cases."
As I said earlier in this thread, signing a petition may not do any good, but it surely won't do any harm.
