I watched this film on TV last night for as long as I could. It goes down in my book as the most fatuous, puerile and infantile movie ever made. If this is American humour I'm glad to be British. Too judgmental ?
seeing the trailer was enough to prevent me from watching it, I also dislike jim carrey intensely which encouraged my lack of interest in "giving it a try"
Absolutely not! it is total crap. My Dad used to say that the Yanks will laugh at anything - he said this after watching I Love Lucy. I can see now that he may have been correct, although at the time - in my teens - I thought anything American was really exciting.
It really is utter drivel, as is pretty much anything "starring" (sic) Jim Carrey, who invariably barks out every line LIKE IT'S THE FUNNIEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!
it was quite deliberately intended to be childish - the whole idea was to make a film about two complete morons. But if that's what you want the Bill and Ted films are much better.
There's not really any such thing as American humour. There are 300 million of them and they don't all laugh at the same things.
If this is American humour I'm glad to be British. Too judgmental ?
Yes and no, I agree that it was an unfunny film but there are millions of other American that hit the spot right so let us not generalize that everyone in the Us has the same humour as no one over there should generalize that we are all upper class monocle wearing tea drinkers.
I have to admit to liking american sit coms, but usually amercian comedy films leave me cold. Not a fan of rom coms or films like the one in the OP or worse, the American Pie type of films.
