25 Answers
Ok sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I am a new poster,
I am really bored what can I do,
- on a side not and this isn't a joke;
I don't have any friends
I don't have any family
I have very little money
I have no pets/things to entertain myself with
any thoughts?

Nice to meet you anyone1. My mum used to go berserk with us if we used the dreaded 'b' word. Her reply was inevitably 'There'll be plenty of time to be bored when you're dead!' Others have pointed out your strengths and where to start. I could add, go for walks, see people. Sit on a bench and ' people- listen'. I'm a bit restricted at the moment with a broken bone and...

I don't know where you live, but I have found that people are generally ready to meet you half-way if you offer open friendliness. So I don't understand your 'proven fact'.
Perhaps it may be sensible in your case (and with what I deduce are your expectations) to start with offering help to others? There must be voluntary groups in your area. I moved countries in 2002, landed in France in a derelict farmhouse, knew no-one. It didn't take too long to become a help-line, join in local events, offer help with English at the local Library etc., etc.
In March we moved back to UK - to an area neither of us knew, long story, we wanted to make our own lives. We are now very much accepted here, but we have again made the effort to get out and join in. I started by saying 'Hello' to people in the street.
Please get back if you need to, but honestly this is the way I/we have used. Give of yourself. :)

Do you have Streetlife on line in your area? One way of being in touch without the strain of meeting face to face.
Me? I tend to chat to people at bus stops.
Do you belong to a library? All those lovely books to read at no charge.
When you are comfortable being there check out what activities they may have. Depends on the size of the library and where you live I know.
Some smaller ones are desperate for volunteers to help keep t library open or to help older people cope with the internet.
Charity shops need volunteers to work behind the scenes, sorting, pricing, listing. No need to meet the public.
Learning a new language online costs nothing. Could you volunteer to puppy walk ?
There are many lonely people out there. It is very difficult to decide to meet strangers, I know from my own experience.
Best wishes. if you want to talk online you know we are here.

That's very sad LewPaper. I am so sorry. I've had enough people be nasty to me to be able to understand what you say and there have been times when I have withdrawn. When I was suffering from domestic violence it was particularly hard. I still find that a happy relationship with life involves taking a deep breath and going out to people. I'm prepared to take the risk because experience has given me more good than bad results, but I know why you and others may withdraw. :)
