I just went to get a drink and there was a massive spider sitting on the bottom on my glass, in my drink!!!!! Filled the bottom of the pint glass.

Was obviously no longer with us, being in my drink, so had to go wash it down the drain outside.

(shudders!!!!)

Just glad something caught my eye before I took a sip!

Have you all seen any of the lurking beasts around yet?

loads of creepy crawlies crawling indoors at this time of the year
bet he was legless
Question Author
Not seen many so far this year. I don't mind small ones and if they aren't anywhere near me but can't kill them though. Just hope they disappear.

Think the main think was the fact that I had the glass to my lips before I noticed it!
Question Author
Ha, it was only blackcurrant cordial. He had very long legs! :(

*thing" even!
I've had 6 'big ones' so far this season, all in the last 2 weeks. Surely that's over my quota. They make my life a misery at the moment as they terrify me.
Question Author
I think that is definitely over quota!

I had one scuttle across the floor the other week while I was watching the Bake Off but not seen any since then thankfully.

I always have to have a window open unless it's absolutely freezing though.

Have thought about getting one of those plug in spider things which discourages them, my friend has one and she is terrified of them.
Rather see a big spider than a small one over here.
The little 'uns are venomous, the big hairy ones, harmless.
//the big hairy ones, harmless.//

you haven't met my doris
Question Author
I've heard about this little venomous ones, fake widows or something? Seems to be a lot of conflicting information on how venomous they are though.

Got bitten by something a week ago and ended up with cellulitis, no idea what bit me though, just woke up with an itchy bump and then it all went downhill from there.
I'm not sure that those plug-in things work. Spiders don't bother me - I'll happily pick them up and chuck them out of the window - but I get hundreds of insects in my porch. My plug-in thing is supposed to send them away, but it doesn't.
Somehow I've decided I don't want to Aelmpvw.
Nothing you've said, of course.
Question Author
I think I'll pass on that Aelmpvw :)

I do wonder if it would be a waste of time having my windows open so much as well. My friend thinks hers works though she rarely opens her windows.
I'm not sure what the big deal is… we all know they don't drink that much… a little sharing goes a long way...
