Clumsy Wife

My wife has managed to spill her expensive (so she says) foundation (make-up guys) on our nearly new beige carpet.

Can anyone give us a clue how to get this oil based product off the carpet. All websites seem to be commercially backed so they only promote their own product.

Isopropyl alcohol is probably among the best for this sort of thing, but don't know where you can readily get it in Britain. I bought a litre abroad, cost all of �1.25.
