So Stressful!

Had to buy a new printer. Gradually managed to get main PC, my iPad, OH laptop to print. Can't get my laptop to print. It will print if connected with usb thingy but that means going into another room. Trying to print in sitting room, it keeps saying the printer is off line. It isn't but don't know what to do. Any suggestions folks?

There's no one on here too, by the look of it. I went to bed at 11, got up again at 12 as I couldn't sleep. but it's been dead for the last hour and a half. Like watching paint dry. Can't offer any advice re your problem; I ain't no techie.

Caran...in order to answer your question, people are going to need to know lots more !

Make and model of printer...ditto your laptop.

I presume you are trying to print wirelessly. As you are able to do so without difficulty with your desktop, ipad, and the other laptop, the problem seems to lie with your laptop.

I have to say I gave up trying to print wirelessly from my desktop, to my new HP printer, but its not a problem as I just use the USB cable instead, and the PC and the printer sit along each other anyway.

Have you been able to print with your laptop wirelessly to your previous printer ?

Caran on your lappie go into settings devices and see if the lappie is recognising your new printer. If not you will need to enable it to. You may have to load up new drivers. Use set up wizard.

At a quick guess have you 'paired' the printer to your router? Is the printers Wi Fi switched on? A lot of printers will either print via a usb lead or via Wi Fi on a network, but will rarely do both at the same time.

Caran if your other devices are printing wireless the printer is connected to the router. Therefor your lappie that wont print need sorting only.

Done everything that has been suggested. Laptop recognises printer but says it is offline.
