Sonographers At Baby Scans

When they tell you the gender of the baby, how accurate are they? My friend went for her scan and she was told the sex when she asked. She said to the lady are you sure its that, the lady said yes. Then as her scan was almost over, sonographer said ' i have just checked again and def the one i said it is.

I'm sorry i cant put on here what she is having, because she told me not to. I can tell you it is what she wanted for along time.

All the mothers I know who found out the gender of the baby had the gender they were told they were going to have.

If they are unsure they'll say they're unsure.

With my youngest they couldn't tell what gender he was because of the position he was lying in until the very last minute when he moved.

Well hope she has better luck than me. For my first pregnancy I was told I was having a girl, pfft!!!
Good thing I did not buy anything pink!!!!!!

It depends on the position the baby is lying in. If they can definitely see a penis, they'll tell you it's a boy. Otherwise they tend to say 'girl' or 'not sure'. Wish to goodness my grandson had been a girl, it was a bad day he turned out to be a boy - my heart sank when they said his gender. :(

(He really is the little horror I then expected - and don't blame me, I was in France - 'cos our boys are pains.)

I know a couple of people who were told they were having a girl and out popped a boy. Some hospitals won't tell you the sex of the baby anymore.

the umbilical cord can look like a kids willie
and cause confusion if the child is a girl

that is why they are told ... not to tell ....

some parents take it philososphically
and others are outraged
