Clouds Etc
HI folks - hope lots of you managed to see the Blood Moon last night. I decided i was going to get up to see it, and I really was glad I did. It was quite high in the sky in the West Midlands at 4 am this morning, but it was clear to see that it was red and had the shadowy eclipse over it. Brilliant! Oh, and whilst I was looking at it, I could hear the local barn owl screeching away - never heard it screech so much, it was almost as though it was spooked by the red moon!
My question, though, is about the clouds tonight. Went out in the back garden to hang some washing out - heard the tawny owl this time whilst I was out there. Looked up in the sky and all the clouds were almost like airplane jetstreams - all the clouds were streaked across the sky .... has any one seen this sort of thing before? And do these "stripey" clouds have a particular name? Can't say I've seen them like this before ....
Thanks, hope someone can help,
Chox.
