Sorry for the misunderstanding, Coachwalker. Your opening sentence gave me the impression you thought we'd be familiar with your case and you were updating us, and I remmeber Asphodel was also using the Leeds office (but maybe all cases go there)
I had to complete an "affidavit of service" which I got from the Leeds probate registry and have it sworn saying when and how the warning had been posted or delivered. As it happened I could just have used the ordinary post to deliver the warning. The Leeds registry (or wherever the caveat has been lodged) will then check whether or not the caveator has responded within the eight-day period and if not, communicate with the probate office to say that they can continue with granting the probate. It will probably be about ten days before you hear from them but you could possibly call the probate registry a few days in. You can read more about the legislation here. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1987/2024/made
