Is it my imagination or are there 14 spaces to fill? 4,5,4 only add up to 13 in my book .....

Thanks for "chancy", that's great. Re 9a, I should have added that I think 5d is "in season" (trendy agent's shown up to meet lad face to face (2,6).
so 9a would be m?s?e? up

I think there is something wrong with 26 as you present it as echoes of swan is an anagram of show ones face.

just looked at the clue again, and it's
