Is there any protection from being struck by lightning from the rubber tyres when cycling through a thunderstorm ?

Isn`t it about time that the BBC or any other channel got some on the spot weather forecasters or temperature readings... It wouldn`t cost much (i would do it for nothing) Just a few individuals...
