Laptop trouble

I have a Dell inspiron laptop that constantly freezes after a few minutes,the battery won't charge and a message says the wrong adaptor is plugged into it(even though its the one that came with it)...

this cat followed me into mums house

and just would not leave me alone, i stroked it and it just snuggled up to me, but then it ran upstairs right into my mums house and i had to get it down again, mum was furious at me for encouraging...
