british justice not.....

can someone please tell me why a person can attack a person from behind for no reason with crow bar neally killing them half his skull missing and he gets 14 months and serves just 6 of them police...

pleading not guilty to pre meditated gbh

anyone any idea roughly what sort of sentence someone will get for putting someone in hospital from end january till middle of may and the injured person had brain op and it was unprovoked attack
