How do I replace a fan?

Hi my computer was crashing, so someone on here suggested i hold a fan to the side of my computer with the side off. This has worked!! yipee, but what now? Cheers

crashing computer

my computer keeps crashing, within 10 to 15 minutes of start up, i have done scans, on norton, and adware, and nothing found! any ideas? I am running xp, Thanks in advance.
