I wish!

Why do we wish on stars,birthday candles,dandelion clocks etc... what is the symbolism and why do we wish on objects instead of just wishing...if you see what I mean... Fanks. x

I know this demonstrates that I have no life or taste but...last year and/or the year before,the snooker used a track,kinda dancy with the lyrics some days u can't deny,some days just pass you by......
