Change of home page

My home page in internet explorer ( Vers 6.0 ) has changed to ??G. When I change it to a different page it always reverts back. Since it happened a couple of days ago Internet explorer does not work....

What would cause dial up internet connection to be lost. This occurs randomly sometimes after a couple of minutes sometimes as soon as I try to go to a different website. The system is quite old. THe...
