Both of my Magnolias have flowered twice this year is this normal as in previous years they have only flowered in the spring , the flowers are a lot smaller second time around.

Standard Bay Tree Damage

At the moment it looks dead, have done the scratch test on the bark on trunk and its green underneath the wood but there is no new growth at the top, should i leave it for awhile or scrape it.
