converting a cellar

Has anyone any experience in converting a cellar which has no windows? It has a "coal hatch" so that coal could be dumped into it from the street, but this is on a pavement covered with a metal plate...

ALDIs have now discontinued this line and I can't find an ALDIs contact email address to ask them why or whether I can buy them in another form. The ALDIs website does not show a "contact us" address....
