I was in America this summer on a J-1 visa and stupidly got done for Disorderly Conduct, Now i plan on going back to College out there with an F1 visa. Will this effect the london embassy giving me a visa?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am worried. I also understand that this is a violation, not a conviction. Will i need to put this down when filling out the Visa forms or can i leave it out?...
