Do cough bottles from the chemist work?

My cold has gone into a cough, quite sore and chesty, but I dont feel ill and wont need the doctor. It wakes me up at night. Do these bottles work or are they just liquid paracetemol? Im an OAP.

Can I develop hay fever at 67?

Yesterday I started to sneeze, my left side of my throat got very sore and clear water appeared to run from my left nostril. My head feels muzzy. My face felt very hot. Is it a cold or hay fever?
