my mk2 91 golf, keeps cutting out when idling or approaching a road junction - just wondered what might be causing this?

My golf keeps cutting out

My 91 H reg golf keeps cutting out when idling at t junctions/traffic lights etc - any clues at to what might be causing this. ps recently replaced the battery. thanks

Car keeps cutting out

Just bought a mk2 golf - which keeps cutting out when idling (traffic lIghts T-junctions etc) - it has plenty of fuel and a new battery. thanks
