Same Computer screen problem....

Screen comes on for one second when switched on..After switching on /off about 30 times it stayed on...Just taken it next door and same thing happens,so it's definately the screen gone...

I don't know how she has done it, but the display on my daughter's laptop has gone sideways. We've switched it off but it is still sideways. Anyone know how to put it right please?
