How long a prison sentence would a drug mule arrested coming into the UK receive?

Whatever it is it doesn't seem to be a deterrent. We're awash with drugs. Does China, with its draconian punishment for similar offences, have much less of a drug problem?...

How exactly does this work? Im assuming that there isn't a public viewing list to alert a suspect that he/she's a suspect, But then does this mean that a person could be at the airport about to go on...
