green compost

hi,i repotted some peppers a week or so ago, and the top of the compost has gone green,it looks horrid, can anyone tell me why this is so,and is it a problem for the plant,if so what can i do about...

Ants on the Drive

Must be the time of year. The ants are back, digging up my drive and leaving sand and holes everywhere. How do I get rid of them - for good ? Something bird and pet friendly please.
