Hotmail Composing Problems?

cant compose a new email with hotmail. I´ve tried twice and after 1 hour, have given up!! All i get that stupid message stating nearly finished!!...

my gmail sign in procedure has suddenly change --my user name+password now throws up some squigly letters i have to type in to log on--i've tried this god knows how many times and it will not accept...
