Why has no Labour leader ever had a full second term as Prime Minister?

Elected for a short-lived second term were Clement Atlee, Harold Wilson and James Callaghan, but all lost to the second'term curse. Why? Various reasons - a tiny majority lost, blame for economic problems, union strikes.
