Some have been having trouble with Gravatars updating recently.

I gave the techies a nudge, they looked into it and said it must be a problem at the Gravatar end.

As such there's little we can do to force gravatars to change.

We hope they'll fix the problem in a timely fashion.

Good idea Chuck.

*Ahem*

I announce that we've added a new feature: sometimes you'll get a random avatar, it's a bit like the 12 days of Christmas meets an advent calendar - except without the chocolate, or tiny doors to open, or the tree.

NOTE: It has come to my attention that some didn't understand this to be a joke. This is a joke. There is no intentional randomization of images on The AnswerBank. The issue lies with Gravatar getting confused about the images it sends.

Loving the idea Ed....however, maybe the random avatar should have a little disclaimer on it somewhere stating it's a bit of fun rather than another glitch? I can see Gawd knows how many posts about it otherwise.
