Ed – text disappearing under ads – again

I’ve posted a request in R&S asking people not to post long links until this problem is resolved. It’s impossible to understand some of the posts and therefore impossible to respond.

This is a relatively recent problem, so I’m wondering what’s been done during latest attempts to improve the site to create it? Maybe if you retrace your steps, you’ll hit upon the cause. Just an idea.

Right, I have logged out, refreshed, logged in again. The page with my long link is still truncated. This page is fine. I am now posting my long link again.

IE is still the third most popular browser

Hopefully being helpful, I have opened this thread in my back-up Browser IE8 and there is a problem. Most of the threads are cut-off after the letter 'P' in Report.

Have had word from the techies and the fix should be applied to new posts and there will be a batch process at some stage to fix older posts.

Please do let me know how things are going with the long URL's.

Ed, I've just emailed you to ask you to remove one of my posts with a long link. Both the report button and the best answer button are also disappearing under the ads so no chance of using either. I've just logged out and in again - no change.

This thread is also behaving the same way since Lottie posted her long links.

I have the first two letters of the report button Naomi. Nothing past there. Getting fed up with it now!

I've got the first two letters of the report button too, Lottie - but only on this thread. On the other one where I've asked for my post to be removed, I have nothing of the report button at all - nor the 'best answer' button - and there seems to be a lot more text missing from the right hand side of the posts. It's driving me nuts!! So frustrating!

At the moment I am posting via Internet Explorer and Adverts are overlaying print. The problem does not prevail with Google Chrome and Firefox; even with adverts displayed on AB pages.
