The ones that pop up in the middle of the page...often warning me that my apps need updating...or that my device is running out of memory...plus more nonsense. Several popped up as I was typing this.
I wonder if humbersloop is also getting them again.
I'm getting one from something called "lovelinks.co.usa"....tells me I have to update my app store immediately. If I don't hit the back button, it becomes a new page...with a warning that it can hurt my computer in yellow at the top. I don't wait around...I kill it immediately.
I'm getting one, have been for a week or so and did it while on the main Body and Soul page earlier. It goes to a completely different page and is about updating Java - at least today's were, all about updating something anyway.
My anti-virus picked up and removed something earlier this evening too.
I'm running a full scan of Malwarebytes. The Adobe ad took over my whole screen the only way to get rid of it was to close the page and reopen again.
It was large and agressive, not the usual reminder to update. I have seen the one telling me my computer is running slowly too.
ayg, running the scan is ok to a point but part of the problem is some of the pop ups point you to the app store, so Malware doesn't recognise them as hostile, what ever it is just sits there as an irritant
Just had a large notice to say Adobe Flash Player is an unsafe site, it is being reported to Microsoft. Not to open anything. My Malwarebytes is still running don't know if it's that that has picked it up.
I think I've got them.... I finally managed to test it on an android device, and I've blocked the related urls.
This thread is about issues using an android tablet on The AnswerBank. This is what you're all talking about, or are you talking about your windows PC?
I will say however Tambo - that I can't find lovelinks or mobogenie in the list of advertisers... so maybe some are getting confused? It would be good if it wasn't my problem!
I reg via yahoo and Abank is the only referral, as yahoo isnt my usual site because of the pop-ups. Gravitar need my yahoo connexion, thst I do thru the office puter.
Deleting pop-ups urls in history & bookmarks solved it for me. Till next time ;)
