I am astonished that it takes a Sassenach to point out that you have not hoisted the Saltire in the top left AB corner.

Where are the ardent Scots on here, the likes of Anneasquith or Douglas, or even mazie, nungate, queenie, minty, slinky, slappy or Albs? They should be on here giving you a right ol' rough time.

Wee drams awae to yer all, north of the Wall.

for pig-ignorant Sassenachs, there were two major waves of Pictish Celts that swept across Scotland, names such as Pit.....indicating their settlements. As to toasting, the greeting is used in both Ireland and Scotland, reflecting this mutual Gaelic heritage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sl%C3%A1inte
DTC....my b-i-l's surname is Carnegie, I couldn't possibly say if there was a connection ;)
Awwwww, bless. I feel like I've come of age, getting name checked in the Editor's Blog.
I actually spent yesterday afternoon doing the gold tour at the Scotch Whisky Experience on The royal Mile in Edinburgh with a good friend and neighbour. That has left me completely mellow and at peace with the world. I reserve the right to stir it later when the effects of the water of life ebb away.
A very informative and enjoyable afternoon turned into a tour of Rose Street hostelries, train home and rounded off with a chicken dahnsak 'n' wine.
In short, you're forgiven. :-)
douglas...it was you staggering out of Milnes bar !!!
@horseshoes:

Peidiwch â phoeni. Bydd popeth yn iawn.
Anne....he isn't the patron Saint of Scotland but the majority of Scots are athiests so St Andrew means nothing. On Burns night you get haggis neeps and tatties in the pubs...I do it it at home. We had pork tonight...says it all :).

You know as well as I do that Burns night is the the main gig !!
I like rose street :)
Agree with Anne. Once tried to have a pint in every bar in Rose Street but had to give up half way through.
douglas....I feel your mellow (ness) . Cannae beat it with a big stick....slainté pal x
I'm doing a similar route next week ;)
The very idea murraymints! It was The Black Rose. Rock and roll! :-)
'' the majority of scots are atheists '' really ?
I did Rose Street.....was a long time ago :) (I think ;) )
Enjoy, kylesmum. :-)

Not to a St Andrean, it isnt. Both have validity for an excuse for a drink. St Andrews Union's motto is "The Home of the Original Hangover."
Yip Anne. I live surrounded by 3 churches. My wee neebs go for company, they've told me. Sad fact. The church is redundant ..it's only a meeting place for lonely old people. Fact.
