Anyone else having problems? I'm finding posts (mine and other people's) are popping up instantly in the grey box - but are taking ages to appear on the threads. Just thought I'd mention it.

Not so far. But this site does have regular issues.
There is a lag problem.

Pist numbers are not accurate.
The diverless car thread is currently showing 100 posts when there are 104. If you click on a post in recent threads and go to the last answer it will not show you the last page.

Yep summats up.
Are you using Internet Explorer.? I am Not getting any problems with Firefox.

Hans.
Pist and diverless cars. Apologises. Dont' tell Douglas he might have a fit.
Very annoying when a thread goes over 20 / 40 / 60 posts etc as the new page, doesn't appear. Grrr.
Latest Safari on iOS10.

I have cleared cache, history and done a reboot, but the problem persists.

I didn't think the problem was with me. Jim mentioned a problem this morning too.
Could depend on equipment being used. I don't think answerbank takes kindly to Mobiles.

I am Not getting any Problems on Safari in my steam driven PC. Or with Firefox and Seamonkey; although Internet Explorer is misbehaving.

Hans.
I think there is a problem at certain times, Naomi. I use Chrome and get problems most mornings at around 9 a.m. and today had another problem at around 11 a.m.- the system freezes while I type and it takes minutes to submit or it takes a minute for a thread to open when i click on it- and I find it easier to switch off and start again. In between it was fine and is normally fine for most of the day.
Some have suggested that a certain tool available from Chrome helps but when I try it it looks as if the adverts in AB are now programmed to try to override the blocker and there is a delay while a running battle exists.
Chrome is a Google Browser and Google is Advert orientated for revenue purpose; as is AB.

I am inclined to agree with fiction-factory, "it looks as if the adverts in AB are now programmed to try to override the blocker and there is a delay while a running battle exists."

Consequently, some folk have moved away from AdBlock and are now using uBlock. Pity really because without the Adverts this site is unlikely to survive.

Hans.

Hans.

This site is incredibly slow this morning. Can't someone wind up the elastic band a bit more ?

It is almost unusable.
THanks, I'll have the techies look at it. We had a similar (but worse) problem on the development site, so maybe it's similar.
Chrome was slow, just discovered Firefox seems ok. Was also slow on the default Samsung mobile browser too, whatever that is.
