I am honestly fed up with having to scroll down every time I log on. Is there no way you can shorten the height of the banner at the top so that all 6 Latest Posts are visible together? I am on a laptop.I have mentioned this a few times before but have had no response. Thank you in anticipation.

I absolutely agree, it used to be that latest posts were visible from the top,now you have to scroll down to get them in the right position. On top of that there is a wide pointless blank column to the right that serves no purpose. I used to be able to have other things open while still seeing latest posts and now they cover it up. I'm guessing the prime force behind the revamp is more ad space.

Thank goodness someone else agrees Prudie. I thought it was only me. It is so frustrating when you imagine it should be easy enough to solve
Advertising pays ABs running costs and keep this site free. Without the ads there would be no nswerbank.

So I'm afraid you will just have to get used to it.
Certainly sorting out the computer savvy from t'others.
I well understand the need for ads thanks. And if you think a site needs only IT savvy people to be able to use it then priorities are wrong.
I see all latest posts without scrolling on my laptop.

I reduced the page size slightly, hold ctrl and press -
ctrl and + to enlarge.

My browser remembers this setting for AB, no other sites are affected.

That's faffing about, there is a quicker way.
The functionality of this redesigned site is 90% the same as the previous one. There have been a few minor tweaks, but it is essentially the same.

Some Internet Explorer users are experiencing some problems. That is mainly Because it is not a good browser, and is not really ABs fault. The ABTechies will work to overcome the glitches, and the site will settle down.

I am particularly impressed with the smartphone version. AB used to be terrible on phone, but the new version is a joy to use.

I am not objecting to ads either and understand their purpose. I have tried reducing the size but, to get all 6 posts in, the writing is so small that it's difficult for me to read. I still don't understand why the banner at the top can't be reduced in height. Why would that have any bearing on the ads?
Just out of curiosity, Ellie, how far down this can you see without scrolling? I'm on an iPad and can only see to the grey line under the title of Ed's thread.

Jo, on my laptop, I can see down to the third line i.e
'to try and help, so would this be a preferred layout for the category pages? '

P.S Zacs, don't think your comment @ 21.56 is in any way helpful.
Thank you, Ellie :)
I see down to the forth line on a desk top.
Show off ;o)
;-)
the previous mobile version was mince on my 'phone so I always used the desktop site on my 'phone and it was great. This new version leaves a lot to be desired.
On my desktop I can see down to the red arrows for latest posts list which is under this line

This would just be desktop, mobile and tablet would look as they do now.
:(((((
Are you seeing a banner advert that is the full width of the site, near the top of the page?

I am not sure that it is supposed to be there.

On my iPad I have not advert, and I can see down to the fourth recent post.
