A-H "I think it's reasonable that an element of human nature is involved in moderation - what one Mod may delete, another may allow - that's simply the nature of moderation. " I agree entirely, but please remember that this is a two-way mechanism and that the perpetrator may not have answered in a way that can be described as rude.....e,g the OP of this thread....

//Is it because I mentioned G----e?//

I was goin' ta 'let me google that for you' but . . . never mind.
Lol @ Douglas 18:39.... I called it Google Fu a little while back. Full page copy and pastes, with a little light editing, are what reputations were built on back when it seems. :))

Thanks for the response, everyone.I've never had so many answers to a question before,so at least that's a result!Goodnight all!
Keep it going, Mexican and you may just well get a badge for...something...... ;-)
You only get badges now for length of service. All the others have fallen below the AB radar.
Advice to mods, with apologies to Winston Churchill. "Don't just do something......sit there".
""Don't just do something......sit there". "

Noted, ta ;-)
Lol Boo. Now that is succinct. :))
Naomi - // Don't worry about it Mexican18. Depending upon who has their finger on the zapping button, these Site Rules are becoming more elastic with each passing day. Potty!! //

I think it's reasonable that an element of human nature is involved in moderation - what one Mod may delete, another may allow - that's simply the nature of moderation.

It's not a perfect system, but I am sure that all Moderators do their best - in spite of regular veiled insults that infer that they have personal agendas, are unfair, take things personally, and so on and so on ....

AH, I couldn't have summed you up more succinctly than you have done yourself.
I asked a question a few weeks ago about railway stations in Cardiff. I wanted to know if anyone familiar with Cardiff could tell me which was the better of two stations to use, given that I get lost easily and would be a lone female late at night.
I was told to Google it. Not helpful.
You could have said Jackdaw. " If you have something important to say......start at the end." (^_*)
someone wanted to know the MPs code of conduct which was lost for ever more or perhaps not ever printed - -
and I googled it and it came up first or second....
BUT
it did give a definition of Integrity ( ha! - not much of that in the HoC) which I needed for an essay
and to be fair it was under reconstruction
That was only one poster. Others gave you the correct information.

Best not to try then - as Dirty Harry said, a good man always knows his limitations.
I agree Naomi. If this site is for the terminally stupid who ‘forget’ they’re on the Internet then the removal of posts is justified. If not, then it should cease!
The Ed and the Mods should realise that to survive they need to be aware of demographics ie whilst the current generation of predominant users may forget they’re on the internet, the survival of the site depends on a future generation that would never dream of asking questions which can be easily answered by a search engine. Adapt or disappear.
Be careful with answers removed as ladies are now ruling the roost, they're no more spare Ed for manoeuvre... the hens rule the roost.

I knew those chickens where upto something.
LOL @ Ark!
It would appear that Answerbank is quite happy to have people find this site via google but not to use it for anything else.
It's rather different to say 'Look this is what I found re your query using Google' to 'Go Google it' or words to that effect.
