I'm fed up with ads continuously popping up and covering the Answer box. I have no sooner deleted one than the next one appears. Is there any way to stop this? It has only happened recently. I can't post anything without having to zap all the time!

Me too, you click on answer then up comes a full page spread for Panty liners :0(
I'm fed up with the one that has sound without warning. There is a symbol on it that says it is muted, but you have to unmute it and then mute it again to shut it up

I never even notice what they say as I zap them immediately!

I've noticed that too Hopkirk
Same here why? Yes i did mean panty liners ;-)

I tolerate ads on PC but rarely post anything when using my phone because of the ads covering function keys.
I suspect if you had one of those not-to-mention wotsits on the site and then set your cookie settings to reject all (just once a day, say) you wouldn't have the problem.

The noisy advert is for PlayStation

These posts would probably make a lot more sense to the Ed (and to AB's techies) if people could say what type of device, and which web browser, they're using.

I'm using Slimjet on a Windows 10 laptop, with the browser's built-in adblocker disabled on this site. Although I see ads at the foot of the screen, I'm able to scroll down the page far enough so that the answer box is well above any ads. (Buenchico pauses here to take a screenshot of what he's typing right now: https://ibb.co/vjCj7rQ ).

When video ads (with accompanying audio content) appear at the foot of my screen, they're always pre-muted. So (unless I actively turn the sound on), I never hear the audio.

Past experience has shown that most of the people who have problems with AB's ads are using iPads, with Safari as their chosen browser. Perhaps something similar is occurring again now?
reported do you work for avast ;-)

Hmmmm, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean somebody isn't out to get you.
I'm using a Moto G9play phone with Chrome.
The PlayStation advert shows a mute button which is premuted, but it still plays sound. To mute it you have to press the mute button twice to unmute and mute again.
I'll look into the PlayStation advert. We do not want adverts to be making noises on The AnswerBank.
Same here - driving me mad!
Thanks Spare Ed.
'er indoors gives me that look when it happens.
.. and yet you decide to play with your own joystick Hoppy.
Today's noisy advert was VM Ware
Couldn't agree more, elliemay. they're a pain in the butt
