The role of the AnswerBank Editor is to maintain the quality of the website content. It is not to get involved in personal disputes between users. The harassment and bullying occurring on the site is now affecting the quality of the website.

The sly digs and conversations full of insinuations are being dragged across different threads and categories. It's making the site unpleasant.

Regular and well-established members should know better. It's a shame that those involved are regular and longstanding.

We're implementing a zero-tolerance stance when it comes to this now.

Moderators, please suspend well-established users if they involve themselves with this ongoing drama. If we feel the suspension is justified then we will leave it in place indefinitely.

Sharing it would cause endless recriminations and an escalation of the issues we're seeing.
I fear we're back to square one in terms of this site being run on advertising revenue which is fuelled by the number of 'hits'. More members (of whatever calibre = more revenue).

We would be happy to suspend the offenders. They have had numerous warnings, publically and via email. This is their final warning, Zacs-Master.

It is not a case of quantity over quality.
In that case, I'm reassured as to the site's future. Thank you. I look forward to seeing your intentions being implemented.
Perhaps add an 'answers removed' category to everyone's profile alongside questions asked and answers given.
I think now we just have to wait and give it a chance. I hope it works well.
Lankeel you can have answeres removed for reasons that are that not because you've been naughty. Best not to get too complicated.
Well I'm somewhat reassured too, Zacs. I didn't realised people had been warned by email.

The zero-tolerance policy is one thing, however what about the troll that keeps appearing almost laughing about how easy it is to just register in a matter of minutes? Can that person not be perma-banned. It happened to a couple of people many years ago.
I hadn't realised that emails had been issued to those involved - so I feel a lot better today.

Thank you so much Ed.
I didn't know either. But obviously it's only those that get them that need to know.
As an outsider looking in, I think you’ve more stirrers on here than actual bullies, they’re the ones who keep bring the unpleasantness up, you’ve just got to look at the recent posts on the GMEB thread.
Hopefully they don't land in 'spam' or junk mail folders.
Yes, I'm not a fan of the word 'bullies' for the agent provocateurs on here. They tend to end up making themselves look stupid anyway and I certainly don't find anyone intimidating. But maybe that's just me.
Stirring is a form of bullying in my opinion, just more underhand. Some can cope with it and ignore but others are more sensitive. They pick on the sensitive. Like playground behaviour really.
I notice that Zacs is the first to respond. He clearly knows what this means. See his response at 09.59 in this OP:

'I bet a league table of removed answers would be very telling!'
yeah about the mods hur hur hur

about this thread - not the posters oh no no no
are we all being rather precious?
I hope you reported me, 10cs!

Some people are blatant hypocrites.
I don't recall ever reporting any user on this website.
I am not speaking about any post or poster specifically but a one-off, sly wee dig might be un-noticed or thought not to warrant a comment.

Repeated sly wee digs are a different matter and the drip-drip effect can have an emotional impact on individuals and should be reported.
